Our Story:
Lucky Spikez finally launched in 2020, after years of planning a cultivation business. The pandemic shutdowns gave us the opportunity to test our concept: focusing on small, high-quality grows instead of a large-scale production farm with thousands of plants. These small-batch grows allowed us to provide meticulous care to each plant as they matured. We also relied on feedback from our extensive network of experienced cannabis enthusiasts, who acted as our marketing panel by filling out surveys on their experiences. Based on their input, we made adjustments to nutrients, lighting, and soil conditions for each grow, constantly refining our approach.
Many customers have asked about the origin of our name. “Lucky Spikez” is a playful nod to the old cigarette brand “Lucky Strikes” and an urban legend that claimed some packs contained marijuana. We swapped “Strike” for “Spikez” to represent the sticky trichomes on our buds, which resemble spikes under a magnifier and store the THC that produces the high. As the trichomes fill with THC, they transform from clear to a milky appearance. My friend Lucky added the “z” for a touch of urban street vibe.
